North Carolina Army National Guard Staff Sgt. Michael Bohn, a information technology specialist assigned to the 630th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, sets up a Joint Capabilities Release during the 16-07 National Training Center rotation at Fort Irwin, California on June 11, 2016. JCR builds on the situational awareness tool Force XXI Battle Command Brigade and Below/Blue Force Tracking enabling lower echelons to communicate and navigate in theater using computers, global positioning equipment and communication systems that work together to provide near real time information to combat leaders at the tactical level. The NTC is a training facility designed to simulate real-life combat scenarios testing warriors’ readiness utilizing their military occupational specialty in a high-up-tempo environment.
