    New York National Guard

    New York Army National Guard infantrymen assigned to Co. C, 1st Battalion, 69th Infantry Regiment based in New York City assault Objective Tarantula during a live fire training exercise at the Joint Readiness Training Center, Ft. Polk, La., July 25, 2016. The live fire exercise is completed in three phases: training exercise, company exercise and live fire, and challenges the commander to simultaneously complete two separate objectives while maintaining command and control of the battlefield. Approximately 3,000 Soldiers from New York joined 2,000 other state Army National Guard units, active Army and Army Reserve troops as part of the 27th Infantry Brigade Combat Team task force. The Soldiers are honing their skills and practicing integrating combat operations ranging from infantry troops engaging in close combat with an enemy to integrating artillery and aviation, July 9-30, 2016.
