A U.S. Navy E-2 Hawkeye airborne early warning aircraft is captured at the moment of catapult launch from an aircraft carrier flight deck. The aircraft, identifiable by its distinctive rotodome radar dish mounted above the fuselage, is just becoming airborne with steam from the catapult system visible behind it. The tail number '602' is partially visible on the aircraft.
