160522-N-IK388-066 SAN DIEGO (May 22, 2016) - High school senior Siobhan Garry (center), recipient of the Alice May Anderson scholarship award, is recognized by Society of Women Engineers (SWE) members during the 34th Annual SWE Celebration and Awards Banquet held at Point Loma’s Liberty Station. SWE hosted the event to honor the life of Anderson, a pioneer in the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) field and is considered one of the country’s first “human computers.” They also recognized science fair winners, scholarship recipients and SWE leaders from across the San Diego area.
