U.S. Army Soldiers from the 1st Battalion, 41st Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, stand guard while a group of protestors assemble at the front gate of Camp Prizren in Kosovo May 7. The demonstration was part of the crowd riot control portion of Operation Sharp Griffin, a 36-hour operational readiness exercise, aimed at testing the military decision making process and response capabilities of the German contingent while working shoulder to shoulder with U.S. Army Soldiers. U.S.
and NATO forces have contributed to the United Nations-mandated peacekeeping
mission in Kosovo since June 1999.
