An aerial photograph shows a naval carrier strike group underway in open ocean, sailing in a column formation. The formation is led by what appears to be a Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser in the foreground, followed by a large Nimitz-class aircraft carrier with visible aircraft on its flight deck, and at least two additional escort vessels trailing behind in the distance. The ships are leaving visible white wakes as they transit through deep blue open water under hazy atmospheric conditions.
