U.S. Army infantrymen assigned to the 1st Battalion, 41st Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, await further instructions before engaging an angry group of rioters during Operation Thunder Road IV March 17, at Camp Maréchal de Lattre de Tassigny, Kosovo. During the crowd-riot-control exercise, the U.S. Army Soldiers partnered with multinational service members from Hungary, Germany and Poland. The joint exercise allowed the team from Multinational Battle Group- East to rehearse common tactics, techniques and procedures used to restore peace in the event of a real-world incident. U.S. and NATO forces have contributed to the United Nations-mandated peacekeeping mission in Kosovo since June 1999. (U.S. Army photo by: Staff Sgt.
