A Marine with 3rd Assault Amphibian Assault Battalion, 1st Marine Division, guides an Amphibious Assault Vehicle into the vehicle stowage area of the USS Somerset (LPD 25) Feb. 20, 2016, in preparation for the culminating training event of Exercise Iron Fist 2016. The event is a scenario-based, bilateral amphibious assault, between the U.S. Marine Corps and Japan Ground Self-Defense Force, launched from the USS Somerset, in coordination with inland airborne troop movements aboard Camp Pendleton.
