BAGHDAD, Sgt. Cynthia Espinoza, a native of New York, and a heavy equipment operator with Company A, 62nd Engineer Battalion, 16th Engineer Brigade, Multi-National Division, Baghdad, pushes a hesco barrier into place June 12 while putting the finishing touches on improvements to living conditions at Joint Patrol Base Lions Den southwest of Baghdad. Construction on the JPB started in January. Since then, the base has been upgraded with improvements to roads, digging up septic tanks and making ditches for new plumbing additions, renovation of electricity and the addition of a gravel lot which serves as the Iraqi army's motor pool. Both MND-B Soldiers and their IA counterparts live on the base, which will eventually be handed over to the IA.
