Army Col. Jim Keene, commander of the U.S. Army Field Band, conducts the U.S. Army Field Band during the 69th Annual Midwest Clinic – International Band and Orchestra Conference – in Chicago on Dec. 17. All Army band members go through basic training and then experience a rigorous audition before being hand-selected to join the U.S. Army Field Band in the Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) 42-Sierra (Army Musician). There are 60 members in the band and 29 chorus members. Maj. Gen.
