Royal Danish Army Sgt. 1st Class Martin, with the building partner capacity (BPC) mission supporting Combined Joint Task Force-Operation Inherent Resolve (CJTF-OIR), strikes the barrel of an M240B machine gun with his hand to simulate the recoil of a shot fired with an Iraqi soldier assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 75th Brigade, 7th Iraqi Army Division, at Al Asad Air Base, Iraq, Nov. 27, 2015. Striking the barrel of a weapon encourages soldiers in training not to anticipate the shot when pulling the trigger. Training at the BPC sites focuses on basic combat skills and includes: military tactics, instruction in leadership, ethics, the law of war, land navigation, battlefield medicine, counter-sniper tactics, explosive hazard awareness training, infantry skills, small unit maneuvering and combined arms obstacle breaching. .
