Frank Axelsen, the senior medical officer onboard forward-deployed amphibious assault ship USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6), discusses the abilities and functions of the ship’s medical spaces to members of the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force. Bonhomme Richard is the lead ship of the Bonhomme Richard Amphibious Ready Group and is forward-deployed to Sasebo, Japan in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations.
