Guests peer into Hospital Cave during the Marine Corps Community Services Tours Plus Spooky Sites Tour Oct. 22 on Kadena Air Base, Okinawa, Japan. Hospital Cave was one out of four sites observed during the bus tour, during which families under the Status of Forces Agreement learned the legends and historical background of the locations. The cave is located behind the 18th Wing Headquarters Building and remains marked as a preserved historical site known for its use as an air raid shelter and field hospital for the Imperial Japanese forces during World War II. More than 30 guests attended the tour which has been held several times annually for the past 10 years. The Spooky Sites Tours are scheduled to continue until Nov. 1.
