Iraqi army soldiers receive classroom instruction on mortar systems at the Besmaya Range Complex in Iraq, Aug. 18, 2015. The three-week course will qualify the soldiers to effectively use the various mortar systems in the fight against Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant. Coalition training like this is a cornerstone to the build partner capacity mission to enable Iraqi security forces to defeat ISIL. To date, coalition forces have trained nearly 12,000 ISF personnel.
