Welch has his parachute inspected July 8 before jumping into the Shoal Water Bay Training Area, Queensland, Australia, during Hamel 15 in conjunction with Talisman Sabre 15. Talisman Sabre 15 is an exercise designed to improve U.S. and Australian combat training, readiness and interoperability. Hamel is a bilateral combined arms exercise.
