SAN ANTONIO – (April 24, 2015) Sailors of Navy Band Southwest’s rock band, The Destroyers, rock the crowds during Fiesta’s Battle of Flowers Parade. The band, joined by more than 100 Sailors from the San Antonio-based commands, moved down the route thrilling crowds with awe-inspiring sights and sounds. The parade them was “This Land is Your Land,” highlighting the United States of America and its heritage. The Battle of Flowers Parade is the founding event of Fiesta and the only parade in the country produced by an organization made up entirely of women, all of whom are volunteers. Fiesta is the nation’s third largest of its kind, behind only Mardi Gras and the Rose Festival. More than 3 million people participate in more than 100 Fiesta events, many focused on the military and its influence. (U.S. Navy photo by Burrell Parmer/Released)
