    U.S. Naval Forces Central Command / U.S. 5th Fleet

Hospital Corpsman 1st Class (FMF/PJ) Matthew Breske, independent duty corpsman on board USS Reuben James (FFG 57), rendered medical assistance to a crewmember on a Sri Lankan fishing vessel during a routine visit board search and seizure (VBSS) boarding April 21. Reuben James is currently conducting maritime security operations (MSO) in the Arabian Sea. MSO set the conditions for security and stability in the maritime environment as well as complement the counter-terrorism and security efforts of regional nations. These operations deny international terrorists use of the maritime environment as a venue for attack or to transport personnel, weapons, or other material.
