150324-N-NT265-119 EAST CHINA SEA (March 20, 2015) – Marine Cpl. Shayne Wood, assigned to the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), scopes out a target during a Visit, Board, Search and Seizure (VBSS) exercise aboard the forward-deployed Whidbey Island-class amphibious dock landing ship USS Ashland (LSD 48). Ashland is part of the Bonhomme Richard Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) and, along with the embarked 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), is currently underway in the 7th Fleet Area of Operations.
