Guatemalan special forces soldiers known as “Kaibils,” assigned to the “Grupo Especial de Interdicción y Rescate,” or GEIR, train using pistols Jan. 28 in Poptun, Guatemala. The name “Kaibil” dates back centuries and was derived from an indigenous leader, Kaibil Balam.
