Navy Cmdr. Mike Berry consults with members of the Pakistan military at Chaklala Airbase during the delivery of relief supplies by a U.S. Air Force C-17 May 20. The aircraft delivered 120,000 prepackaged halal meals and tents for use by Pakistanis displaced by fighting against militant groups in the northwest areas of the country. The supplies were the first of $10 million in aid scheduled to be provided by the U.S. Department of Defense, in addition to a commitment of over $100 million in aid by the United States government.
