French Col. Denys Colomb, the French National Liaison Representative to Supreme Allied Commander Transformation, greets former Army Lt. Cary Jarvis Jan. 11, 2015, in Norfolk, Va. Jarvis, who landed on the beaches of Normandy on June 6, 1944, with the Virginia National Guard’s 111th Field Artillery Regiment, 29th Infantry Division, was honored as a Knight in the French Legion of Honor, the highest decoration bestowed in France.
