    III Marine Expeditionary Force

Reconnaissance Marines finish the 25 meter swim on the bottom of a 13-foot pool to practice breathe holding techniques Nov. 18 during a pre-combatant diver course at Camp Schwab. After The Marines swam 25 meters underwater, they tied a rope around a pole and then swam 25 meters back underwater. This technique teaches the Marines how to control themselves and stay calm while completing a task underwater. When the Marines complete the pre-combatant diver course, they will attend the Combatant Divers Course. The Marine Corps Combatant Diver Course provides underwater tactical training and skills needed to successfully conduct underwater navigation for infiltration and exfiltration in hostile environments. The Marines are from 3rd Reconnaissance Battalion, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Lance Cpl. Devon Tindle/Released)
