Herman Haynes of AMK 9 walks Maj. Edan to the front of the formation during the 3rd Medical Command (Deployment Support) Operational Command Post (Forward) change of command ceremony on Camp Arifjan, Nov. 5. Maj. Edan is currently serving in Afghanistan as an animal-assisted activities dog. The outgoing Detachment 7 provided support to 25 rotating subordinate medical units and personnel consisting of over 1,000 joint service members and civilian contractors throughout the U.S. Army Central area of responsibility.
