Sgt. Richard Ortega, from Whittier, California, bench presses 260 pounds during the Flex Your Pecks for Breast Cancer Awareness event Oct. 5 at the House of Pain Fitness Center South at Camp Hansen. The event was held in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. “I participated in this bench pressing event because it is for a good cause,” said Ortega. “Not many understand breast cancer, and events like these help bring awareness.” Ortega is a marksmanship instructor with Marine Wing Support Squadron 172, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, III Marine Expeditionary Force.
