    The amphibious assault ship USS Bataan (LHD 5) is participating in hurricane exercise Hurrex 08-002 in anticipation of disaster relief efforts. Hurrex is a Commander, U.S. 2nd Fleet directed exercise designed to test the ship's ability to respond to humanitarian assistance and disaster relief needs during the 2008 hurricane season.
