Boston Consortium Naval Reserve Officers' Training Corps (NROTC) new freshmen midshipmen complete their Third Class Swim Qualifications in the Lt. Michael P. Murphy Combat Training Pool on Naval Station Newport Aug. 27. The new midshipmen are part of a consortium comprised of NROTC midshipmen from Boston University, Boston College, Northeastern University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Harvard, and Tufts University. The new midshipmen spent a week at Naval Station Newport as part of freshman orientation to introduce them to ROTC and prepare them for their next four years of training.
