Lauren Brashear, eldest granddaughter of U.S. Navy Master Chief Boatswain's Mate Carl Brashear, along with Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Gary Roughead were part of the party. The Military Sealift Command auxiliary dry cargo carrier honors Brashear, one of the first black deep-sea divers and master divers, and the first U.S. Navy diver to be restored to full active duty as an amputee.
