Sketching a familiar Californian scene, signal support systems maintainer, Pfc. Juan D. Franco, Company C, Division Special Troops Battalion, 1st Cavalry Division, uses heavy blue and greens to "bleed out the detail" of his drawing. Franco has been drawing with ink, colored pencil, charcoal, and water colors since elementary school. Franco wants to be more proficient with oil colors and airbrushing before he will consider himself a true artist.
