Paratroopers with 1st Squadron, 91st Cavalry Regiment, 173rd Airborne Brigade march with Latvian National Guard soldiers from 2nd Company, 2nd Battalion during the opening ceremony of the Latvian National Guard's annual sports competition in Augstkalne, Latvia, July 19. Combined teams of American and Latvian Soldiers with the 2nd Infantry Battalion participated in competitions throughout the day, such as basketball, obstacle-course relays, orienteering courses, marksmanship and strongman. Approximately 600 paratroopers from the 173rd Airborne are deployed throughout Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland as part of Operation Atlantic Resolve to demonstrate commitment to NATO obligations and sustain interoperability with allied forces.
