A group of approximately 10-12 people are gathered outdoors near a large muddy puddle or flooded dirt track in a sandy, open area surrounded by deciduous trees. The group appears to be inspecting or surveying the site, possibly as part of a field visit, environmental assessment, or site inspection. The setting suggests a rural or semi-wild location with tire tracks visible in the sandy soil.

A group of environmental professionals and managers from various training and ecological departments in the U.S. Army tour a tank range on the Grafenwoehr Training Area. When tanks and other tracked and wheeled vehicles traverse the ranges, many small patterns are left in the ground which promote an area where several amphibians can flourish. 33 years ago, the U.S. Army started monitoring the conditions of their training areas in Europe. Today, 77 percent of these training lands are designated flora and fauna habitat. (U.S. Army photo by Staff Sgt. Christopher Robertson)
