The USS Comstock recovers Marines with Battalion Landing Team 2nd Battalion, 1st Marines (BLT 2/1), 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit, traveling in amphibious assault vehicles during Composite Training Unit Exercise (COMPTUEX) off the coast of southern California May 13. COMPTUEX serves as the second at-sea period for the 11th MEU, in which the unit will focus on the enabling and supporting functions necessary for success during full mission profiles operations during the upcoming deployment.
