Marines with the Battalion Landing Team 2nd Battalion, 1st Marines (BLT 2/1), 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit, fire the M240G medium machine gun from a High-Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV) during Composite Training Unit Exercise (COMPTUEX) aboard Camp Pendleton, Calif., May 10. COMPTUEX is the second at-sea period during the 11th MEU's predeployment cycle, in which the MEU will conduct concurrent mission planning and execution integrated across all element of the Marine Air Ground Task Force while supporting Amphibious Squadron 5 in their evaluated training.
