Lance Cpl. Dustin Johnson, an amphibious assault vehicle crewman with Battalion Landing Team 2nd Battalion, 1st Marines (BLT 2/1), 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit, and a Pendleton, Ind., native transports Marines to the USS Comstock during Composite Training Unit Exercise (COMPTUEX) off the coast of southern California May 13. COMPTUEX provides the 11th MEU, along with the Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group, the opportunity to conduct command and control of amphibious operations from the sea.
