Children, parents and staff from the Peaceable Kingdom Retreat for Children at Killeen, Texas, gathered in a field to check out a UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter from Company B, 3rd Assault Helicopter Battalion, 227th Aviation Regiment, 1st Air Cavalry Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division, Nov. 8. Chief Warrant Officer 2 Shai Bardfield, a Black Hawk pilot for Co. B, 3-227th, 1st ACB, 1st Cav. Div., landed the aircraft at PKRC, a non-profit camp for teens and children with disabilities and chronic illness, so that they could see what an Army helicopter looked like up close, he said. The campers who attended the camp this weekend are all diagnosed with arthogryphosis – a joint disability – which affects Bardfield's son Stetson, 7.
