Japan Ground Self-Defense Force Col. Hidetoshi Fujita, center, holds a FIM-92 Stinger missile launcher alongside Marines with the Low Altitude Air Defense detachment, Marine Air Control Squadron 4, during a bilateral air-defense system exhibition April 15 at Marine Corps Air Station Futenma. The demonstration was part of an overarching exhibition highlighting the air-defense capabilities of the 15th Anti-aircraft Artillery Regiment. The systems included a Type 03 middle-range surface-to-air missile and Type 11 short-range SAM. Fujita is the commander of the 15th AAR, 15th Brigade, Western Army, JGSDF. The Marines are with MACS-4, Marine Air Control Group 18, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, III Marine Expeditionary Force.
