Senior Airman Chris Griffin, 407th Air Expeditionary Group still photographer, plays with an Iraqi child before she goes into surgery Oct. 30, 2008. Air Force and Italian doctors work together correcting cleft lip and palates and providing free surgery for Iraqi families. Clefts are a major problem in developing countries, those who have it can't eat or speak properly and aren't allowed to attend school or hold a job. Griffin is deployed from Eielson Air Force Base, Alaska. His hometown is Havelock, N.C.
