Iraqi mothers try to cool their daughters after going through cleft surgery Oct. 31, 2008. Air Force and Italian doctors work together correcting cleft lip and palates and providing free surgery for Iraqi families. Clefts are a major problem in developing countries, those who have it can't eat or speak properly and aren't allowed to attend school or hold a job.
