    379th Air Expeditionary Wing

    Tech. Sgt. Shaun Carroll, 379th Expeditionary Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, 34th Aircraft Maintenance Unit, does an operations check on a removed flap carriage Oct. 5, 2008. A maintenance crew is pulling the flaps from the B-1 Lancer in order to troubleshoot a flap lock-up problem at an undisclosed air base in Southwest Asia. The B-1 is often called upon to deliver precision weapons in support of ground troops engaged in Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom. Sergeant Carroll, hailing from Charleston, S.C., is deployed from Ellsworth Air Force Base, S.D.
