Tech. Sgt. Shaun Carroll, 379th Expeditionary Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, 34th Aircraft Maintenance Unit, places screws from a B-1 Lancer flap into a parts bag Oct. 5, 2008. A maintenance crew is pulling the flaps from the B-1 Lancer in order to troubleshoot a flap lock-up problem at an undisclosed air base in Southwest Asia. The B-1 is often called upon to deliver precision weapons in support of ground troops engaged in Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom. Sergeant Carroll hails from Charleston, S.C., and is deployed from Ellsworth Air Force Base, S.D.
