    III Marine Expeditionary Force

A U.S. Marine Corps Humvee disembarks the Military Sealift Command maritime prepositioning force ship USNS 2nd Lt. John P. Bobo March 11 at Gwangyang Port, Republic of Korea, during exercise Freedom Banner 2014. Freedom Banner is an annual exercise in support of Marine Expeditionary Force Exercise, which will project U.S. military power and exercise maritime prepositioning force ship offloading capabilities similar to what would occur during a wartime or disaster relief scenario while giving Marines an opportunity to strengthen ties between the U.S. and the Republic of Korea. During the offloading process, equipment is driven off of the ship and guided to a staging location where it distributed to units participating in exercises, including MEFEX, within the Republic of Korea.
