Rct. Anthony Zazzaro, Platoon 3020, Kilo Company, 3rd Recruit Training Battalion, runs to his next point of cover as he and his fellow recruits move across an open field March 7, 2014, during the Crucible on Parris Island, S.C. The recruits moved in teams as they advanced toward a simulated enemy. The recruits worked together to complete various tasks during the Crucible, which tested their courage, mental and physical stamina and ability to operate in cohesive units.
