Approximately 400 U.S. and Royal Thai armed forces service members parachuted into Lop Buri, Kingdom of Thailand, Feb. 15 as part of Exercise Cobra Gold 14. The jump was organized and led by the 4th Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), 25th Infantry Division. Paratroopers flew 19 hours direct from Alaska and jumped at 14,000 feet from five C-17 Globemaster IIIs. This training opportunity demonstrated the ability to rapidly deploy combat ready forces to any global crisis or contingency through combined and joint support. CG 14, now in its 33rd iteration, demonstrates the U.S. and the Kingdom of Thailand’s commitment to their long standing alliance, regional partnership, and prosperity and security in the Asia-Pacific Region.
