U.S. Marines enjoy a quick lunch with Republic of Korea Marines Feb. 6 during Korean Marine Exchange Program 14-3 near Pohang, Republic of Korea. As the Marines ate, they exchanged food and shared laughs. “The ROK Marines are awesome,” said Sgt. Robert L. Ponder, an intelligence analyst with the 3rd Reconnaissance Battalion. “Eating with them and talking with them definitely helps strengthen ties and deepen the relationship; because of this I got to meet a lot more of the ROK Marines and this definitely helps motivate me for the hike because now they aren’t just people I’m hiking with, they are Marines I’m enduring with.” The Marines in the photo are with Company A, 3rd Reconnaissance Battalion, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force. The ROK Marines are from the 1st ROK Special Reconnaissance Battalion, 1st ROK Division.
