Second Lt. Jon Hobbs, the assistant operations officer for the 142nd Aviation Regiment, Maine Army National Guard takes aim at a 50-meter target after completing one of three 3,500-meter cross country loops around the skate ski course at the Eastern Region Biathlon Races in Jericho, Vt. Hobbs and three others competed in events Friday and Saturday that tested speed, endurance and accuracy. At the end of each segmented portion of the 10 km course the skiers had to step onto a live range and fire at 50 meter target.
