Sgt. Matt Delaney, a financial services specialist for Joint Forces Headquarters, Maine Army National Guard, prepares to fire at one of ten targets at the Eastern Regional Biathlon Races in Jericho, Vt. The race invited National Guard teams from New England as well as Olympic hopefuls to compete and advance. The participants had to ski a challenging 7.5 km or 10 km cross country race, with the range spaced after their first and second completed lap. This is the second time since 1990 that Maine has been able to send a team to Vermont for this event, and they hope to continue to train more soldiers for future events.
