In December 2013, the 1189th Transportation Brigade, Deployment Support Command, conducted SeaPort Operations Company 14-1 (SPOC) exercise at Joint Base Langley Eustis. Soldiers of 441st Transportation Company, (L to R) Pvt 1st Cls Steven Sherwood, and Private 2nd Cls Orlando Adams, tighten the chains securing a vehicle to the deck of a "land ship" trainer. If this was a real mission, tie-downs ensure safe delivery to the destination. The exercise refreshes and trains skills of cargo specialists and transportation coordinators.
