U.S. Army Col. Matthew McFarlane, commanding officer of the 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), 25th Infantry Division, presented U.S. Army Sgt. Rick Henry with 1st Squadron, 40th Cavalry, 4-25 IBCT, with the first-place award after the Spartan Sprint Triathlon competition that began and ended at Buckner Gym Sept. 7, 2013, at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson. The triathlon consisted of a 300-yard swim, 12-mile bike route and 5 kilometer run. All military ID card holders were welcome and the first 100 registrations received a Spartan Sprint T-shirt.
