The mission of the Special Warfare Training Wing is to recruit, assess, select and train ground combat forces that specialize in airpower application. The Wing consists of two Groups and seven Squadrons with 12 subordinate Dets/Operating Locations across eight states. The Wing administers 16 training courses and manages Air Force participation in five joint schools, focused on building the human foundation of the Air Force’s Special Warfare capability.
The Special Warfare Training Wing marked a historic milestone today, November 3, 2025, as it launched the first-ever Zulu Course, a groundbreaking common skills training program uniting Air Force Special Warfare career fields under one standardized curriculum.
