Members of the Florida Army National Guard deploy alongside National Guard units from Alaska, California, Mississippi, Tennessee, and Colorado as part of Task Force Gator in support of Kosovo Force (KFOR) 36. Together, these multi-state formations integrate to form a unified task force in support of NATO’s peacekeeping mission in the Western Balkans.
In preparation for the deployment, Task Force Gator conducted a culminating training event at Fort Hood, Texas, to integrate personnel and validate mission command across the task force. Following the exercise, elements of the task force continued collective training at the Joint Multinational Readiness Center at Hohenfels, Germany, while other units transitioned directly into deployment activities. This phased training approach ensured units were prepared to operate in a multinational environment prior to arrival in Kosovo.
Task Force Gator’s KFOR 36 rotation demonstrates the National Guard’s ability to integrate forces across state lines, operate as a cohesive task force, and contribute to regional security and stability. The rotation highlights the Guard’s role as an operational force, capable of delivering trained, ready formations in support of NATO objectives and enduring partnerships. show less
