At the direction of the President of the United States to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Department of Defense, U.S. military service members are supporting illegal alien holding operations led by DHS at Naval Station Guantanamo Bay.
Airmen from the 821st Contingency Response Squadron rapidly deployed to Naval Station Guantanamo Bay in response to a presidential executive order, supporting expanded airfield operations. They overcame joint service communication challenges and moved over three million pounds of cargo during the mission.
